Pennants are placed and saluted: in memory of 1,510 Israel Police casualties

The Israel Police today (Monday) commemorates the 1,510 Israel Police casualties who fell during or after their service from the days of the establishment of the state until today. Since the Memorial Day ceremony last year, another 12 casualties have been added to the bereavement situation of the Israel Police.

In the shadow of the continued national struggle against the spread of the corona virus in Israel and the existing restrictions, this year the memorial ceremonies are being held by the police and in general, in a limited format and without an audience.

Last night, a salute ceremony was held on Mount Herzl for the victims of the Israeli military and the laying of the national flag on the graves of the victims, which opened the events of Remembrance Day. As every year, immediately after that, officers and policemen began to place the Israeli flag on the graves of police martyrs in cemeteries across the country.

Israeli police officers and volunteers and Border Police fighters are at the forefront every day in the fight against terrorism, crime and maintaining internal security. The police prevent and protect their bodies time and time again for the safety and well-being of the citizens of the State of Israel, with heroism and fervor. Since the Memorial Day ceremony last year, another 12 casualties have been added to the bereavement situation of the Israel Police. On the day of remembrance that will begin tonight, we will commemorate the 1,510 Israel Police casualties who fell during or after their service from the days of the establishment of the state until today.
