The Negev Theater is proud to present: ‘The Fate of Mr. Cohen’

A new satirical comedy starring Uri Gabriel as president of Half-El and Roni Sasson as Mr. Cohen. An original Israeli play by Raanan Paz and Amir Yerushalmi, directed by theater director Issy Mamanov Nuriel.

After decades of war between the Kyrgyz and the Brusers, the parties agreed to put the disputes behind them and sit down for peace talks. During the talks it turns out that in the balance of forces the Kyrgyz forces killed one more civilian for the brokers and these require a different comparison and there is no agreement.

The President of the Kyrgyz, President Half-El, announces a lottery in which the name of the citizen who will give his life for the sake of the peace agreement will be raised. Because Kyrgyzstan is a country that upholds the values of democracy
It was determined that only if the citizen agrees of his own free and democratic will to give his soul then is he executed. And so at the center of the play is the character of Gedaliah Cohen, the little citizen whose name was destined and now we have to choose whether to die for peace or just to live.

Theater thing:

When we received the play ‘The Fate of Mr. Cohen’ for reading, it was clear to us from the first moment that this play must go on all stages in the country and we decided for the first time to raise a budget for theater production on a repertoire scale.

Mr. Cohen’s fate is a funny and touching play that speaks to every man and woman in the world and especially in our small and controversial country.

We see great importance in promoting an original Israeli work and are proud to embark on a satirical comedy that will make you laugh to tears and be equally excited.
