Deputy Minister of Defense in Samaria: "The police presence must be strengthened"

Following the Defense Minister’s directive, to tighten inter-organizational cooperation in order to suppress nationalist crime in Judea and Samaria, Deputy Defense Minister MK Alon Schuster met today (Sunday) in the Samaria region together with an integrated mission intelligence team including IDF forces, police, Border Police and the GSS, which aim to reduce incidents of public order and nationalist crime in the area.

Deputy Defense Minister MK Alon Shuster: “After getting to know the areas of friction in the Judea and Etzion Brigades, I held a deepening today in the Samaria sector, where there is good cooperation between the IDF, the Border Police, the Israel Police and the GSS. The eradication of nationalist crime necessitates in the immediate term the increased coordination between organizations. In the medium term, the police presence must be strengthened, the legal tools improved and the effectiveness of the bodies in the field must be increased. At the same time, action must be taken, in coordination between ministries and authorities, on the welfare and education levels, in order to provide a solution for at-risk youths working in the area. “
