Lod: A three-month-old baby is locked in a car and rescued safely by ‘Friends’ drives

A call was received today (Tuesday) at the center of the “Friends” organization, about a three-month-old baby who was accidentally locked in a car in front of his father on Shevat Gad Street in Lod. Moshe Hillel Sarfati, head of Modi’in Illit volunteers, Shlomo Lahiani, Eviatar Levy and Netanel Hadad, drivers of the Lod branch, responded to the call and arrived quickly. Using the dedicated equipment in their possession, they rescued the baby safely, without causing any damage to the vehicle.

Moshe relates: "I was under the house when I got the call. I saw that the place was close to me and hurried there. When I got to the scene I recognized a crying baby in the back seat of the locked vehicle. Jointly with the rest of the volunteers we opened the door quickly. Just last week I received the kit and have already had the privilege of rescuing and saving a life. The CEO’s vision"For every building in the country to have a volunteer, closer than ever".

Dudu Tzadok, a call center who answered the call, adds: "During the conversation with the father, I realized that passers-by wanted to break the car window. I reassured the father and explained that the organization’s drives on their way to him with dedicated equipment, and they would open the vehicle without breaking a window. Breaking a window is something that can endanger the child as a result of glass shards. When the conversation ended I shed tears of excitement that I had the privilege of saving a life".
