The National Network for the Protection of Children in the 105 network warns that the ability to impersonate the network and make direct contact with minors by foreigners who want to harm and exploit them is a dangerous phenomenon with serious consequences.

The police call on children and teenagers to exercise extra caution when surfing the Internet:

  1. Do not pass on personal information online and do not give anyone the password to your personal profile.

  2. Never meet with someone you know online without parental consent.

  3. If you feel unsafe online or are asked to do acts that make you uncomfortable, immediately share with the parent or responsible adult you trust.

  4. Does the conversation you have online cause you embarrassment? Are you asked to be photographed revealingly or send nude photos? In such cases, take care of a screenshot of the conversation, immediately disconnect and report to the parents – the screenshot helps us locate the offender.

We also ask parents to get involved in their children’s online conduct – talk to them about the dangers of the network, explain to them about the impersonation phenomenon, and make sure they surf safely and avoid contact with strangers.
