A residential apartment caught fire last night (Friday) on Rabbi Kotler Street in Bnei Brak. Three teams under the command of the shift commander, Rabbi Reshef Dedi Kolimer, sensed the scene and on arrival identified flames from the windows of the apartment. Firefighters worked to put out the blaze and search for casualties.
The family members, who were in the apartment when the fire broke out and left the apartment independently, were evacuated by a meter"A. to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. A fire investigator was called to the scene.
Fire and Rescue reported: "This event is an example of the importance of installing a life-saving smoke detector. If a smoke detector had been installed in the apartment, the fire would have been detected early in the outbreak of the fire, thus preventing the family members from being injured by smoke inhalation, as well as reducing the damage to property."
