President Yitzhak Herzog is holding a political working meeting tonight (Tuesday) with the US National Security Adviser"B, Jake Sullivan, upon landing in Israel.
The meeting was also attended by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Mike Herzog, the US Ambassador to Israel, Tom Nides, senior representatives of the US National Security Council and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel. The President expressed his deep appreciation to the President of the United States, Joe Biden, for his close friendship with Israel and thanked the United States Government for maintaining and strengthening the strong and significant bond between the two countries.
At their meeting, the two discussed various regional issues. The president expressed concern over Iran’s progress towards obtaining nuclear weapons under the auspices of the Vienna negotiations, and described to the adviser that today the Middle East is divided into coalitions. That of Israel and the Arab states striving for peace, fighting Iran and working for a better world for their citizens, in the face of Iran’s terrorist coalition and its affiliates seeking to undermine the space. The president stressed the need to halt Iran’s nuclear armament at all costs.
