In a joint statement issued recently (Friday) by Defense and Foreign Ministers Bnei Gantz and Yair Lapid, the ministers said that the proposal to establish a state commission of inquiry into the submarine and vessel affair would go up for government approval on Sunday.
Defense Minister Ganz: "The establishment of the Commission of Inquiry is a necessary step in maintaining Israel’s security. This is a national need, and I thank the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Justice and all those who support the raising of the resolution."
Foreign Minister Lapid: "We promised the Israeli public that we would not give up on investigating the affair – and we did. The issue of submarines and vessels is the most serious security corruption case in the history of Israel, and every stone must be turned in order to reach the investigation of the truth. This is our commitment to IDF soldiers."To, towards the citizens of Israel".
