After in recent years Hedva Amrani has released a number of songs that brought the audience back to the happy disco era, in the new album, ‘On the Roof of the World’, Hedva visits the provinces of the fifties with an orchestra full of arrangements by Eyal Mazig.
The new single, after which the album is named, is the original song on the project. The lyrics to the song were written by Alon Amir, with Eyal Mazig in charge of the melody. The text was written following a casual conversation with Hedva about her feelings as a young woman in Tel Aviv in the late 1950s.
On the Roof of the World comes after the successes of the previous songs – Tel Aviv at Night (Mash Up with the Spanish song Porque Te Vas) and Take Me.
Hedva Amrani said: “When I listened to ‘On the Roof of the World’ for the first time, I did not know who wrote it. I fell in love with the text from the first moment and the melody just stunned me. It was only when I insisted on knowing who wrote it that I understood why the information was hidden from me – they did not want me to listen with a biased opinion. On the Roof of the World is one of the best songs I have recorded in my entire career. ”
Hedva, who lives in Los Angeles and is constantly on the transatlantic line between the United States and Israel, draws inspiration from the American music scene, in which contemporary singers release standard albums featuring new versions of various songs. The artistic direction of the album was entrusted to Alon Amir, who has been working with it for the past 15 years.
on top of the world
it’s wonderful
When Tel Aviv is green
Going slow
A hug in love here now
And in Little Avenue
Dreaming
it is great
Like the nights in the city
When the wind envelops
A sweet scent that wakes up
Whispers like a young man
Love
Your arm is so soft and warm
And a summer breeze caresses my face
Birds chirp, and the light inside
One gentle and calm look
It is perfect
Im on top of the world
With liquid ice cream
You’re here by my side
It all feels legendary
Breathing
Your arm is so soft and warm
And a summer breeze over a hovering surface
Birds chirp, and the light inside
One gentle and calm look
It’s charming
When in the narrow streets
You look at me again
Whispering words of love to me
Like my heart lusted
me again
on top of the world
on top of the world
on top of the world
