Global Corruption Index: Disturbing data for Israel, which is approaching the red line

The Global Corruption Perceptions Index for 2021, published today (Tuesday) by the international transparency organization Transparency International – TI, shows that Israel is in 29th place out of 37. The published data is disturbing, as there is a danger of a downward trend to 50th place, which is considered ” The Red Line ”from which and below are corrupt countries.

For comparison, Israel received a low score of 59 out of 100 in the current index, while in 2016 it received a score of 64. This is the first time in Israel’s history that it receives a score lower than 60. In 2020, Israel ranked 35th, with a score of 60.

Denmark, New Zealand and Finland are in first place in the index with a score of 88. No country received a score of 100. The United States received a low score of 67, France with a score of 71, the United Kingdom with a score of 78 and Germany with a reasonable score of 80.

At the bottom of the list are South Sudan (11), Syria (13) and Venezuela (14).
