Bennett, Horowitz and Lieberman agreed to add staff to 45 hospital beds

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Ministers Horowitz and Lieberman today (Thursday) agreed to add staff to 45 hospital beds, for immediate staffing in the intensive care units of hospitals across the country. The move will expand the capacity of the health care system and alleviate the burden on hospitals in dealing with the Omicron challenge.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said: “The health care system works around the clock, day and night, to maintain public health. We are aware of the burden on the system and are working to help and strengthen it. We have provided medicines to prevent serious illness, we have expanded the capacity for hospitalization to the geriatric system and home hospitalization, and now we are adding further reinforcement in the intensive care units. We are at the height of the wave and will soon see the light at the end of the tunnel. We will cross the wave together. “

The Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, stated: “We provide additional reinforcement to the capacity of the hospitals in order to maintain the health of us all and a functioning economy. We will continue to monitor the data, strengthen the health system and maintain a good routine of life, even in challenging periods as we experience in the Omicron wave. ”

Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz added: “We provide all the tools to maintain public health, and life alongside the corona. Along with vaccines, drugs and testing, strengthening the health system is a key component of our strategy. This is true for emergencies like the corona and also for the busy routine. We will continue to do everything to make it easier for the patients and the staff in the hospitals. ”
