A police investigation was opened into the investigation about a week ago, upon receiving a complaint from a synagogue rabbi in Kiryat Yam, according to which he was attacked by a local resident who stuck a knife to his neck and threatened to kill him. The investigation reveals that the suspect believed that the victim locked him in the synagogue.
Zevulun police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the suspect, a 64-year-old resident of Kiryat Yam, for questioning at the Zevulun police station. His detention was extended from time to time, and yesterday, the Police Prosecution Division filed a prosecutor statement.
In the coming days, an indictment and a request for his detention until the end of the proceedings will be filed in the Magistrate’s Court in the Krayot.
