The end of harassment and abuse of the elderly: consumers will be able to register in the database "don’t call me"

The regulations regulate the way business owners and consumers use the database, and determine the instructions for registering and removing a phone number in the database and the manner in which business owners can make inquiries in the database. Also, the regulations regulate the establishment of a support center to be managed by the Authority for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade, to handle inquiries from dealers and consumers. The database will be operated by the Consumer Protection Authority, and the obligation to use it will come into effect on January 1, 2023. However, the representative of the Consumer Protection Authority,"D. Ilana Mizrahi, said that the authority will be ready to operate the reservoir as early as November 1st.

Also, business owners who make marketing inquiries will have to check if a consumer’s phone number appears in the database in a period of time that does not exceed the 15 days preceding the date of the marketing inquiry.
