The mayor of Dimona: "Not taking any chances, we decided to open the shelters throughout the city"

The mayor of Dimona, Benny Biton clarified that in a conversation that took place this evening (Friday) with the commander of the Home Front Command, he was informed that there are no special instructions and no order to open the protected areas.

However, the mayor explained that he still decided to open all the public shelters in the city, "Dear residents and residents, as you know, the IDF has begun a military operation in the Gaza Strip. In a conversation with the Commander of the Home Front Command, it was stated that in Dimona there are no special instructions and there is no order to open the protected areas. Despite this, I’m not taking any risks and together with the professionals at the Authority, we decided to open the shelters throughout the city. At these moments, the security department is preparing for the opening of the public shelters."
