sit down"A: The spending of Israelis on credit cards was hardly affected by the operation in Gaza

Data from the Sheba Company, which manages the national credit card payment system, indicate that the military operation “Dawn” had almost no effect on the Israeli public’s spending on credit cards.

The data shows that only in the city of Sderot there was a decrease in expenses during the last weekend (August 5-6) compared to the previous weekend (July 29-30). In the rest of the main cities in the south and center of the country, spending on credit cards was similar and in some even increased.

Spending at the national level at the end of last week decreased by 1.5% and reached the amount of 2.178 billion NIS compared to 2.214 at the end of the previous week.

Due to the T-Bav score last night, there was a decrease in expenses in the restaurant industry, fast food chains and coffee shops. This decrease in expenses is a routine matter resulting from the closure of businesses in the industry.

Attached to this notice is a file containing the expenditures in prominent trade branches in the cities of Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beer Sheva, Nativot, Sderot, Bat-Yam, Holon, Rosh Lat and Tel Aviv.
