on the background of an operation "Dawn": An outline is drawn up for quick compensation of the farmers in the settlements around Gaza

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development together with the Tax Authority formulated an outline for quick compensation of the farmers in the settlements surrounding Gaza due to the damages caused to the agricultural crops during the days of the operation "Dawn". As part of the outline that was drawn up, a number of routes were determined with the aim of making things easier for the farmers and transferring compensation money to the farmers as soon as possible. This outline is another alternative to"The red track" .

As part of the outline, as mentioned, three routes were determined for receiving the compensation. One, a route for farmers who own the territories closest to the Gaza Strip, who were significantly damaged both by the restrictions on movement in the area on the eve of the operation and by the operation. These farmers will receive compensation according to the number of workers employed, and taking into account the six days in which there was a complete shutdown of the activity.

The second, a route for farmers who own more distant lands, within a range of up to 7 km"from the Gaza Strip, who will receive support according to the number of workers employed, and taking into account the three days of the operation in which there was a complete shutdown of the economy. Third, compensation will be awarded to farmers located near the Gaza Strip who shut down their activities for six days, in branches grown in the open: peanuts, watermelons for seeds, bananas and avocados. These are growers of four major types of crops that are now at the peak of the growing season, and the movement restrictions that were in the area and the complete shutdown of the activity, including: irrigation, fertilization, spraying, may cause significant damages in the future to their cultivation.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Oded Forer: "The last few days have been particularly difficult and brought the farmers to losses. I welcome this important outline formulated by professionals in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tax Authority, which will provide a quick response, speed up the procedures and make it easier for the farmers who are entitled to it according to the law in receiving compensation following the economic damages of the days they stopped working".
