The national leadership of parents referred a short time ago (Wednesday) to the proposal of the Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, to resolve the crisis with the teaching staff. As I recall, the teachers’ union reacted angrily to the proposal and said that the "Awkward offer".
The parents’ leadership addressed the ongoing crisis between the Treasury and the teachers: "The students of Israel and the education system have been in a continuous crisis for 3 years and the state cannot afford for this to continue. It must not come to a situation where the school year does not open and the opening of the school year is used as a weapon in the dispute between the Treasury and the teachers’ organizations. All partners in the negotiations are required to show responsibility and give up some of their demands for the benefit of the children’s future and the good of the country."
In addition, the parents commented on the proposal and said: "The proposal that is now on the discussion table reflects the extent to which the education system is in crisis and the national parent leadership sees it as a worthy compromise that meets our expectations for steps to improve the education system. We call on all partners in the education system to accept the offer with both hands, to end the crisis and bring about a normal and successful start to the school year."
In conclusion, they said: "Along with this, a message from the CEO"Yesterday’s letter from the Ministry of Education to district administrators with formal permission to violate the law and shorten the school week in regular education and the school day in special education, is a national disgrace that is unacceptable to us and we reject it completely."
