The Olympic triathlete Shachar Shagiv will go to a series of competitions in the most prestigious league

The Olympic triathlete Shahar Shagiv will go tomorrow (Wednesday) to a series of five competitions as part of the prestigious professional league for triathletes the Super League in which twenty of the highest quality male and female athletes in the industry participate.

The total prizes for the winners of the competition is 1.5 million dollars. For winning each competition the winner will receive $20,000. The winner of the round will receive $50,000 and the winning team will receive $120,000.

Shagiv placed 20th in the competition at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. This is the second year in a row that Shagiv has been invited to participate in the competitions of this round. This season, the Israeli will appear in the Cheetas teams, whose ranks include the most decorated Olympic triathlete – Jonathan Brownlee, co-winner of the team gold medal in Tokyo 2020 and owner of two individual Olympic medals: silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in London 2012.

During the intense two months expected for Shahar Shagiv, he will participate in three competitions as part of the Olympic campaign on the way to Paris 2024. On the eve of his departure for the upcoming competitions, Shahar Shagiv said: "We are nearing the culmination of a season in a post-Olympic year during which I made several professional changes. I changed coaches and today my main coach is Lior Cohen and I moved my training center from Zichron Yaacov to the Wingate Institute. This year I got sick with corona and pneumonia and had a hard time getting back to a high intensity in training. I work very hard in the new professional framework. It’s my time to present the professional applications in practice, at the highest level. I feel good and ready for the peak of the season".
