The stabbing attack in Jerusalem: the terrorist pulled out the knife, stabbed the policeman and was shot by the force

Around 09:15 this morning (Thursday), a suspect arrived from the direction of the Nablus Gate to the Muslim Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem. A police force of the Jerusalem district and the MGB soldiers stationed at the intersection of HaGai Street and Ma’ale Midrash began to inspect him after he aroused the suspicion of the police officers on the spot.

During the examination of the suspect, he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the officers in his upper body. Two policemen fired at the terrorist and neutralized him on the spot, and later he was pronounced dead.

As a result of the stabbing attack, three policemen were injured – two lightly and treated in the field and one more with a light-moderate condition who was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The area was closed to pedestrian traffic in order to continue treatment at the scene. At this time, a situation assessment of the Jerusalem District Command is taking place at the scene of the incident.

Shaare Zedek Hospital reported: "Two wounded people from the stabbing attack in the Old City were evacuated to the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Both injured are stable and fully conscious. One injured with a stab wound in the upper body, and a second injured with a gunshot wound in the lower body. After an initial assessment, they were transferred to imaging tests."
