Today (Thursday), the Department of Police Investigations submitted an indictment to the Haifa Magistrate’s Court against police officer Muhammad Abu Sanan, after he attacked a citizen who came to the police station.
According to the indictment, last March the complainant arrived at the police station and sat down on the waiting bench in the corridor of the Jessar al-Zarqa police station. Then the accused approached the complainant and asked him why he came to the police station and the complainant replied that he came for investigation purposes and added "What do you care?". In response to this, the accused hit him on the head with a collection of pages that he was holding in his hands. An argument began between the two, during which the accused hit the complainant on the head, slapped him in the face and hit him in the mouth with his knee. As a result, the complainant injured his lips and received medical treatment at the hospital.
The indictment attributes to the defendant the commission of an offense of assault causing actual injury.
The case was investigated by the Haifa team at the police investigation department.
