Passed in plenary: Yoav Ben Tzur will be appointed Minister of Labor

The Knesset Plenum approved this evening (Monday) the government’s decision to establish the Ministry of Labor and to appoint Yoav Ben Tzur as Minister of Labor, in addition to his position as Acting Minister of Health.

The decision was approved in accordance with Article 31(c) of the Basic Law: The Government. The minister will cease to serve as an additional minister in the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security.

Also, the plenum approved the government’s decision in accordance with section 31(b) of the Basic Law: The Government, to transfer to the Minister of Labor the powers given to the Minister of Economy and Industry according to several laws.

The decision was approved by a majority of 53 Knesset members against 40 who opposed.
