The president of the country invited to his office the paramedic who arrived first at the scene of the attack in Jerusalem

A particularly exciting guest arrived at the President’s office this morning (Monday), paramedic Fadi Dekidek, from the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Fadi, who has worked at the MDA for over 20 years, was the first to arrive on Friday evening at the scene of the shooting attack at the Neve Yaakov Synagogue, where seven Israeli citizens were murdered. The next day, Saturday morning, Paddy was the first to arrive and render help also at the scene of the shooting attack in the city of David, where a father and son were injured.

The president of the country asked to invite Paddy and thank him personally for his courage, determination and daring: “We saw you and you really moved us all. I told myself I have to meet this guy. You are an example of citizenship, leadership, common life and courage. I wish you not to know similar events. When you are in this uniform and you speak in such an emotional way, you are a living example of a bridge. Nothing will help – everyone lives here together. Thank you very much.”

Paddy told the president and his wife about the difficult scenes they had witnessed in the various arenas and the full belief in saving lives as a supreme value and a symbol of unity.
