The certificates were awarded at a conference of leading authorities led by the Chief of Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi and with the participation of the head of the ACA, General Yaniv Asur, members of the General Staff Forum, senior officials of the security establishment, heads of authorities and school principals from around the country.

The “At your disposal” program of the Personnel Division works to deepen the relationship with the authorities in order to improve and strengthen recruitment for meaningful combat service. In this program, the IDF, and in particular the Meitav Unit and the Education and Youth Corps, are committed to working with the youth designated for service in the security system.

In the program, courses are delivered for technology studies in the periphery, preparation for the IDF and combat service, and preparation for the First Order and the Day of the Dead exams. This is to improve the selection and placement processes in the IDF, to provide equal opportunities and to use human capital in the best possible way.

In addition, soldiers of the Education and Youth Corps, working in the authorities, deliver educational content that deepens the familiarity of the Soviets with the IDF, in order to strengthen the sense of belonging and motivation for combat service and meaningful service in the IDF.

In the words of the Chief of Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi: “There are few armies of democratic countries that are based on a broad conscription model, in which young men and women from all parts of society serve in all military professions. Conscription and the People’s Army model create a young, diverse army, and most importantly connected with love to its people and country, and make the service a national-valued mission, a mission. The source of the IDF’s power, expressed in the People’s Army model, is the connection between the IDF and Israeli society. This is the clearest expression of the deep alliance that lies at the foundation of military-society relations in Israel, which has no equivalent in the world.”

“Those who came up here to receive a certificate are educators every day and by personal example for significant service in the IDF. We greatly appreciate your encouragement for combat service, and surpass by miracle the settlements with a high percentage of volunteering to become officers – these are the places where we need the best people, who can handle the most complex security tasks. I would like to express special appreciation to the Bedouin and Druze authorities who are with us, for your significant contribution and excellence. We are happy about the expansion of the ranks and their diversity, and hopefully this will be an example for other authorities to join, contribute and excel as well.” added
