In a statement from the Zaka organization, it was stated that the volunteers were called tonight to a construction site on Lavanda Street in Tel Aviv following a report of a man in his 40s who fell from a height and was pronounced dead on the spot. Raz Israeli was born and raised in Nazareth Illit and was a prominent journalist and music critic. He began his career in the media in 2009 as a reporter and music critic for Rating magazine.

Over the years, Israel has held various positions in the field of journalism. In 2013 he served as deputy editor in the culture section of Maariv newspaper and the news website nrg. At that time he also worked as a magazine reporter for the local “City Mouse”. Later he became deputy editor of the “Maariv” youth newspaper and in 2017 joined Israel Hayom as a culture reporter and music critic. He produced and edited a number of special projects, including “The 70th Parade” – Israel’s 70 Greatest Albums (2018), “Israel at Eurovision – The Stories Behind the Songs” (2019), “25 Years of Friends” – Ranking the most favorite episodes in the series as chosen by tens of thousands of readers (2019), “And here you stay” – new works for the songs of Meir Ariel (2020), and more.

Later he was appointed the manager of the content channel of the newspaper and the website. On March 6, 2022, he was appointed editor of Israel Hayom’s “Shishab” magazine, a position he held until February 1, 2023.

The newspaper’s gossip reporter Eran Suissa paid tribute to him: “For quite a few years we opened the day together and closed it together. Almost the only one I agreed to share stories and items with before they even came out, and every time he was excited as if it was our first story together. Solves dilemmas, distills stories and upgrades any mediocre column to excellent. Quiet and gentle on the outside, but inside everything is bubbly. Raz Israeli, friend, journalist, editor and a rare person about whom this text was written too soon. Rest in peace and I hope you find Pesach there.”

As mentioned last night, he was found lifeless.
