After being arrested twice: a prosecutor’s statement was filed against a rape suspect

The police opened an investigation on May 25, 2023, upon receiving a report about the suspected rape of a Migdal HaEmek resident while she was in the city of Haifa. Haifa station policemen began an investigation that included the collection of evidence and findings that led to the disclosure of the identity of the suspect, a resident of the city of Umm al-Fahm who was arrested on June 3, 2023 and brought in for questioning.

As the investigation progressed, the court released the suspect under restrictive conditions and the investigation continued at the same time. Thanks to operative and professional investigative actions, the investigators were able to strengthen the suspicions against the suspect, who was arrested again on July 12, 2023.

As mentioned, today (Tuesday) a prosecutor’s statement was submitted against the suspect, by the Haifa district attorney’s office, when an indictment including a request for his arrest until the end of the proceedings will be filed against him.
