Today (Tuesday), shortly after 2:00 p.m., a violent explosion that emanated from an apartment on the eighth floor of a residential building shook Yitzhak Navon Street in Kiryat Ono. Several reports from the residents of the nearby buildings reached the 102 hotline of the Dan district, in which they described that an explosion was heard in the apartment, there was smoke, and cries for help were heard coming from the apartment.
Fire crews under the command of shift commander Rashef Nir Shalom were called to the scene of the incident. The firefighters who arrived at the scene of the explosion identified an apartment that had suffered heavy damage as a result of the explosion. A mother in mild to moderate condition and a child in mild condition who were in the apartment when the incident occurred were evacuated from the scene.
A team of flammability investigators from the Dan district was called to the scene to determine the circumstances of the explosion, along with them the city engineer was called to the scene to determine if it is possible to continue living in the building after the damage that its walls sustained.
