Health Minister Uriel Bosso visited the Institute of Forensic Medicine today (Sunday) and met with the director Dr. Chen Kugel, members of the board and CEO of ZAKA Tel Aviv Zvi Hasid.
Minister Bosso conducted the tour following the discussion that took place in the health committee on the issue in order to closely meet the needs.
The minister toured the laboratories and the autopsy rooms and spoke with the forensic doctors and staff members and heard from them about the challenges, the load and the difficulty at work these days and about the general manpower shortage in forensic medicine.
Minister of Health Uriel Bosso: “For eight weeks, the employees of the Institute of Forensic Medicine have been engaged from morning until night under difficult conditions in the task of identifying the bodies and documenting the brutal attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists on innocent women, children and elderly people. We are committed to working to strengthen this important system and make sure that there will be an envelope that will take care of them the day after.”
The minister noted the joint work and assistance given by the volunteers of ZAKA Tel Aviv throughout the year in general and the last month and a half in particular and thanked the CEO of the organization and the head of the institute’s team Yaakov Steinmetz.
