The figures on suicides among Nova survivors are not correct

Further to the reports that emerged following a discussion held today (Tuesday) at the State Audit Committee, the Ministry of Health is asked to clarify that the data on the number of suicides and the number of those hospitalized due to mental health problems among the survivors of the Nova Party on October 7th – are not known to the Ministry of Health and the mental health system and are not correct. As I recall, survivors of the Nova party came to the Knesset committees and claimed that their treatment was inadequate.

Dr. Gilad Bodenheimer, head of the mental health division at the Ministry of Health, said: “The rumors about the number of suicides and hospitalizations among survivors of the Nova party are not true, as was also said during the discussion and at the end. In addition, from an inspection conducted with the Nova tribe community association, as well as with other parties that take part in the treatment of the Nova survivors, it emerged that these data are not known.”

Ministry of Health spokeswoman Shira Solomon said: The Ministry of Health is working hard to provide a mental response to the survivors of the Nova Party, and therefore, a plan was drawn up to treat the survivors of the Nova Party and Psaidek together with the National Insurance and the Ministry of Welfare, as well as a comprehensive government decision led by the Prime Minister's Office. The ministry invites the survivors of the Nova Party to contact the National Therapeutic Resilience Center in order to receive a response and treatment as needed.”
