On the occasion of Independence Day, Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital decided to dress the soft babies in blue and white clothes, some with the Israeli flag and some with the yellow ribbon symbol. A very moving moment took place when Major Dr. A, who serves as a doctor in one of the special units in the IDF and in the civilian population, a doctor at the Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital and Sergeant Noam Levy, a wounded IDF soldier whose life he saved, entered the nursery.

Sergeant Noam Levy, a fighter in the Nahal Brigade, was wounded in the neck by shrapnel during an operational activity in Gaza and was rushed to one of the hospitals in the center of the country. As the evacuation began, Dr. A noticed that Noam's condition was rapidly deteriorating and that his life was in real danger. A ordered to change the evacuation destination to the nearest hospital. A decision that saved his life.

Noam was first treated in the trauma room of Assuta Ashdod Hospital to stabilize his condition, from there to the operating room and further treatment in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Noam: “Over seven months ago, the promise was broken that Jews would be able to live in Israel without fear or concern. In my name and in the name of my friends: we will stand up at any time and place to ensure that Jewish blood is not wasted. Not 80 years ago, not 7 months ago and not ever.”

Dr. A: “This nation has who and what to be proud of, there is a generation of fighters here whose mission and responsibility are clear to them – maintaining the security of all the citizens of Israel in all corners of the country. Noam and I will show up wherever and whenever we are called – to continue to ensure the existence of the state for the next generation as well.”
