Ashkelon: Two minors and an adult were arrested on suspicion of violent robberies

In recent weeks, the Israel Police received reports of violent robberies committed in the city of Ashkelon, an investigation of the Ashkelon station in the Lachish region led to the discovery of a “Telegram” group where the suspects allegedly offered sex services.

People who contacted the suspects in the “Telegram” group arrived at the place determined by the suspects and there they were robbed by them, in both cases the suspects also used severe violence that included stabbings and as a result of the violent robberies two people were injured.

About two weeks ago the covert investigation became overt when the detectives of the Ashkelon station arrested the three suspects in their car after committing a robbery. In the search carried out by the detectives, several knives were seized which are suspected to have been used by the suspects in the violent robberies.

The three suspects, including two minors aged 15 and 17 and an adult aged 18, were arrested and questioned at the Ashkelon station in the southern district of the Israel Police. At the end of the investigation, they were imprisoned and today (Thursday) a prosecutor's statement was submitted against them. On Sunday it is expected that an indictment will be filed against them and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
