Exciting: Watch – the ceremony of awarding officer ranks in the Border Guard

30 new male and female officers were appointed yesterday (Thursday) at the Border Guard and received the officer ranks. The graduates marched in a ceremony that was held at the Cultural Hall in the South-Sharon Regional Council to mark the end of the officers' course in the Border Guard after successfully completing the course that lasted about nine months.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the Inspector General, Major General Yaakov Shabtai, the commander of the Border Guard, Major Barik Yitzhak, the head of the Human Resources Division, Major Boaz Goldberg, the commander of the military school, Major General Jahad Hassan, the staff of the military senior command, families and friends.

The officers' course cadets who started the course about nine months ago in the commanders branch of the military school passed the three parts of the course, including the preparatory part, the ground officers' course at the Israel Defense Forces' officer school – BHD 1, the military completion part at the police college and the military school.

As part of the course, the cadets were trained in a variety of combat content, shooting, process management, leading staff work, command and control in emergency routines, and more.

As part of preparing the cadets for the operational command positions they will be assigned to in the coming days, the cadets experienced commanding operational activities in all sectors with the various units of the corps.

The male and female graduates who were qualified yesterday will already next week be integrated into the various units of the corps, including the special units of the corps, and will take an active part in the intensive operational activity to thwart terrorism and the fight against serious crime, and this in the shadow of the war.

The Inspector General of the Israel Police, Chief Superintendent Yaakov Shabtai, said in a speech: “This ceremony moves me every time anew, and this time – more than ever, since this is the last officers' course graduation ceremony in which I am participating. As someone who served and grew up in the MGB, and knows it very well , I am proud of the soldier, whose secret of strength is rooted in the human mosaic that makes him up – brave, moral, professional and dedicated fighters.”

The commissioner noted that “the unveiling of the officer ranks on your shoulders is a special moment for you and for the entire Israel Police. In this solemn ceremony, you will transform from fighters to officers with great authority and responsibility in the service of the citizens of the State of Israel. From today, you must remember, in every decision or action you choose to take – your subordinates have their eyes on you. In the October Shiv events and the “Iron Swords” war, the Israel Police lost 62 policemen and fighters. The Border Guard lost 20 of its fighters. Each and every one of them are heroes of Israel! The stories of heroism are many.”

“Also here,” Commissioner Rantz Shabtai added that “among the trainees of the course, there are cadets who were met by the events of Black Shabbat in the most personal and painful way: the cadet R. was at his home in Kfar Gaza on the morning of the Sabbath in October, when his parents and brother were murdered in the village on that Shabbat Black, despite the enormous difficulty, R. joined the officers' course. Cadet Lidor lost his partner – Kim Docker, who was murdered at a party in Nova. Lidor, despite the pain and loss, chose to join the officers' course, and graduated with honors. Resurrection is not simple, but it is precisely from bereavement and grief that the vastness of the soul and spirit are revealed.”

The Commander of the Border Guard, Brigadier Yitzhak Barik, congratulated the graduates and said in his speech: “You are writing this chapter in your life in the midst of an ongoing war, a war that brought us back to dark days in the history of the Jewish people, a war for our right to exist and our right to live as a free people in our country. War for the home Ours. As in the ceaseless race of messengers, today you receive an inheritance from the generations that preceded you. The right to preserve and protect the people and the country, and I add – to remember, to preserve, to protect and to win.”

He added that “We received the iron swords from King David and Judah the Maccabee, from Mordechai Anilevich and Bar Kochba, each in turn worked and fought for our people. Now it's our turn, your turn and more than ever this is our shift, be sure that no one will do it better than you.”

In his speech, the MGB commander congratulated the police commissioner, which is expected to be the graduation ceremony of his last officers' course as commissioner: “Go, Mr. Commissioner, be proud of the police and the border guard that you leave behind – in your image, we demonstrate leadership, operational readiness, Bravery and courage. Allow yourself to embrace achievements and also get excited. Thank you for being a safe beach and for allowing us to dream big.”

The commander of the military school, Lieutenant Commander Jahad Hassan, said in his speech: “Dear cadets – you are accepting the burden of responsibility upon yourselves today, upon your entry into the border guard officer's avenue, you are accepting upon yourselves to commit to the same vocation and to lead many male and female fighters to its light. I am sure Because the men and women fighters in the MGB units today win first-class commanders.”

In conclusion, he said: “I ask you – do not compromise, aim high, be worthy, be influential, be brave, have a respectful dialogue with your subordinates and with your commanders, see your fighters as a moral deposit entrusted to you by Israeli society.”
