Israel's former ambassador to the US, Michael Oren: “The situation in North Maslim”

Ambassador Oren initiated the bringing of the first delegation of residents from the Galilee to meetings with American members of Congress, in order to tell about the chaotic situation on the northern border. Among other things, the members of the delegation met with members of Congress: Ted Cruz, Richie Torres, Brad Schneider, Kathy McMerris-Rogers, Ted Lu, Yoan Sasikmani and more.

The members of the delegation are residents of the north who have been evacuated from their homes. They arrived in Washington at the initiative of the former Israeli ambassador to the US, Dr. Michael Oren, who is the head of the Israel Advocacy Group. The residents of the region, due to the war in the north against Hezbollah, Iran and its affiliates, a situation that is not recognized at all among those with influence and decision makers in Washington and the issue is not treated in the international media.

That is why Israel's former ambassador to the US, Dr. Michael Oren, decided to initiate the arrival of a delegation of residents affected by the war, to meet with senior figures in order to highlight the plight of the residents of the north. Former Israeli ambassador to the US Michael Oren: “Just this morning over 200 missiles and rockets were fired at the northern settlements. For eight months now the residents have been displaced from their homes, it is an unbearable situation, their livelihood, houses, chicken coops, agricultural areas and orchards are on fire and there is no horizon for the end of the difficult war.'

“I have decided to bring a delegation to Washington that will emphasize to members of Congress the heavy price due to Hezbollah's incessant firing on Israel, as well as to expand Israel's legitimacy vis-a-vis Hezbollah on the northern border. I was surprised to see that in the US and the world they do not know at all about the fighting in the north and the many difficulties experienced by the residents of the north.'' he added.

This is another front where Israel is fighting alongside the front in Gaza. I have every hope that this delegation will make the members of Congress understand them and assist in providing global legitimacy for the day when Israel decides to attack Lebanon.' Oren said in conclusion.

Congressman Ted Lowe, who met with the members of the delegation and listened to their stories, said: “It was heartbreaking to hear the stories of the Israeli displaced persons from the northern border. I call on Hezbollah to immediately stop firing rockets into Israeli territory, and if Hezbollah does not do so, it will bear very severe consequences.” Members of the delegation will meet tonight with representatives of President Biden at the White House.
