Two injured in a car explosion a short time ago (Thursday) on the sea road in Rehovot. MDA medics and paramedics with the assistance of medical teams from the Rescue Union gave them medical treatment and evacuated them to Kaplan Hospital in the city where one of the injured, a 50-year-old man, was in serious condition and unconscious.

David Toledo, a medic at the Rescue Union, said: “When we arrived at the scene, the driver of the commercial vehicle was lying on the road and suffering from burns on all parts of his body. We gave him life-saving first aid and then he was taken to the hospital in an intensive care unit.”

Shai Shargai, a medic at Union Rescue, added: “At the scene of the incident, we provided first aid to another lightly injured person, who was injured after, according to him, trying to rescue the seriously injured person from the burning vehicle.”

The police are investigating the circumstances of a car catching fire in the streets, in which, according to medical officials, the two passengers of the car were injured. From a preliminary examination, it is suspected to be a vehicle that caught fire due to a car accident. The circumstances of the fire are being examined by a saboteur to rule out criminal suspicion.
