During the past week, the district commander signed two administrative closure orders for 21 days for two “grocery” and “butcher” type businesses in the city of Rahat, and this in light of a criminal dispute that led to incidents of violence and shooting in the business premises and due to the fear that this poses a risk of disturbing the peace or public order. And the continuation of their activity may cause a real and tangible harm to public peace and security.

The commander of the Rehat station, Sen. Yitzhak Yona, signed a closure order for a business that sells fashion clothes for 21 days in light of incidents of violence and shooting that took place in the area near the business premises and the fear of harming public peace.

In addition, the businesses operated without a legal license and later the Southern District Licensing Claims Unit will consider filing an indictment for running a business without a license along with a request to close the business until the end of the legal proceedings against them.

The Southern District of the Israel Police will continue to carry out proactive activity against perpetrators of crime and criminal targets and will use all the tools at its disposal in order to thwart and prevent violent incidents that occur against the background of criminal conflicts between elements of Arab society for the sake of public peace and security.
