Another suspect was arrested for involvement in the murder of a foreigner during a fight in Tel Aviv

On Sunday this week, (7/7/24) late in the evening, a report was received of a fight between foreign nationals from Eritrea including throwing stones, using clubs and spikes on Hagana Street in Tel Aviv. The fighters of the Tel Aviv branch of the Police together with the policemen of the Ayalon region and the SLA patrols of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality, arrived at the scene in midi, dispersed the rioters using means to disperse the disorder and arrested 8 suspects with assault weapons in their possession.

As a result of the fight, two foreign nationals were injured and were evacuated to a medical center in critical condition. Later, one of the injured was pronounced dead. The commander of the Tel Aviv district, Superintendent Peretz Amar, conducted an assessment of the situation in the field and assigned the investigation to the central unit of the Tel Aviv district. After carrying out many and varied investigative actions, investigators from the interrogation division of the Tel Aviv Police Department came to the conclusion that one of the suspects who was arrested immediately after the incident, is suspected of being involved in the murder.

The suspect was arrested and his detention was extended yesterday (Tuesday) at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court until 7/14/24. This is a foreign citizen from Eritrea in his 30s. Yesterday, following the investigation, the investigators of the Israel Defense Forces arrested another suspect of involvement in the murder, a foreign citizen from Eritrea in his 30s. Today (Wednesday), the suspect will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing on the extension of his detention.
