The Tax Authority has opened the possibility of submitting online applications for the Passover equipping and preparation grant for the evacuees of the Otaf and the northern settlements, this following a government decision on the matter. In accordance with the government's decision received today, the amount of the grant will be 1,000 NIS per person and up to 5,000 NIS per family.

This is an additional grant on top of two grants of the same amount that have been paid to evacuees so far. About 88 thousand applications were submitted for these grants and a total amount of about 181 million NIS was paid.

Eligible for the grant are residents whose permanent residence is in a locality whose evacuation or renewal was extended until July 7, 2024, who were evacuated from their homes as of October 7, 2023, and who have not yet returned to their permanent residence. This, with the exception of residents in settlements that were defined as settlements to which there is no security prevention to return to in government decisions 1193 and 1478. The application process is simple and takes a few minutes, it is enough for one of the spouses to fill out an online application form for the family unit. Children over the age of 18, even if they live with their parents, will submit a separate application for the grant.

Applications can be submitted until May 7, 2024. Grant applications will be submitted on the Tax Authority's website and will be processed within 3 business days of their submission, after the authority has verified the bank account of the applicants. It should be emphasized that this grant does not constitute compensation for damages that qualify for compensation according to the property tax law and the compensation fund, and accordingly, it will not be deducted from the amounts due to the injured party.
