Accusation: Throwing Molotov cocktails at a car carrying Jews

The Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office today (Tuesday) submitted to the District Juvenile Court an indictment against a minor, a 16-year-old resident of the city, according to which he threw Molotov cocktails at a transport vehicle that transported Jews securely to the Silwan neighborhood about two weeks ago.

According to the indictment, submitted through Or"D. Yifat Panhassi-Nevo, the accused and others equipped themselves with Molotov cocktails and stones, put on face veils and waited for the shuttle to pass. while a shuttle bus, in which were traveling, among others, four citizens who live in Silwan and three police officers"B, approached them, the defendant and the others threw a large object at him that hit the shuttle vehicle, Molotov cocktails and stones. As part of the riot, the accused threw two Molotov cocktails at the shuttle bus. One of the policemen who was there shot at him, hitting him and as a result of the shooting the accused fled the scene.

The indictment attributes to the defendant the commission of a terrorist act of aggravated intentional sabotage in a group, a terrorist act of arson in a group, operating with a weapon for terrorist purposes, intentional sabotage in a group and riot.

The prosecution asks the court to order the arrest of the accused until the end of the legal proceedings against him. The arrest request states, among other things, that the defendant’s dangerousness is higher during this period "And bearing in mind the heightened tension that has recently been manifested in the repeated riots in and around Jerusalem, among others by minors".
