Prime Minister Netanyahu visited the Mossad and Shin Bet headquarters: “We are under an existential threat”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu visited today (Thursday) the headquarters of the Mossad for Intelligence and Special Operations, where he met with the head of the Mossad Dedi Barnea and then with a forum of heads of departments in the Mossad.

As part of their meeting, we discussed the regional developments in the various sectors. In addition, the Prime Minister and the head of the Mossad referred to the ongoing efforts and the importance of doing everything possible to return the abductees home as soon as possible.

Afterwards, Prime Minister Netanyahu visited the Shin Bet headquarters, where he held a working meeting with the head of the Shin Bet Ronan Bar, after which he met with the senior forum of the service's management led by the head of the service, Ronan Bar, his deputy, and other senior managers.

Prime Minister Netanyahu received a comprehensive overview of the service's intense countermeasures activity in the various arenas.

Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked the Mossad and the Shin Bet for their part in protecting the security of the state, and especially for the extensive security, operational and intelligence work that the organizations have done since the October 7 attack.

Prime Minister Netanyahu told the Mossad Department Heads' Forum: “This holiday is different, because “our brides rise above us”. This is a very tangible thing, from the axis of evil of Iran and its affiliates, including Hamas. On the other hand, “enslavement to redemption”. This is very tangible when we still have abductees who are kept there in the basements of the monsters in Gaza. We are also committed to defeating the terrorist axis in Gaza, to freeing the abductees and to repelling the overall threat from Iran.”

The Prime Minister clarified that “these are very big tasks that require two things: the first thing that it requires is determination, the second thing that it requires is unity. Nations disintegrate first from within. Not from the external pressure, but first of all from the internal separation. The internal division must disappear now because we are under an existential threat, and in an existential threat we unite forces and not divide them. That's the most important thing there is.”

In conclusion, the Prime Minister said that “Great powers of our time, including world powers, have fallen due to the lack of internal cohesion around the unifying idea. The unifying idea here is the return of the people of Israel to their land and the restoration of our ability to defend ourselves against those who want to destroy us. This is the main and most important idea before anything else – Before tikkun olam, before all the other values we have, if we don't have the ability to defend ourselves against those who seek our souls, we have nothing, and that's why we need to unite with all our strength this Passover and what will follow.
