The Chief of the General Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi issued this morning (Sunday) a day order to commemorate the Holocaust Memorial Day and the heroism of the Palestinian Authority. Chief of Staff Halevi said that “while we are fighting our just war, this memory will be the source of our strength, and a reminder of the importance of the existence of a protective force for our people.”
In a letter that the Chief of Staff sent to IDF officers, soldiers, commanders, and employees, he wrote: “The State of Israel was established, among other things, thanks to women and men fighters of all generations, who were ready to give their lives for it. These days we are in a war in the beginning of which we failed in our mission and lost many and many – Citizens, soldiers, members of the security and rescue forces.
