“The city of Beit Shemesh will double in size”

Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf held a first working meeting with Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg during which they discussed the new and future projects and plans for the development of construction in the city for the coming years.

During the discussion, the development and prosperity that the city has experienced in recent years under the leadership of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, in the form of tens of thousands of new units on level 4 and 5, and the potential for growth in the city, in the existing reserves, in industry, employment and commerce, were presented.

In the coming days, marketing of approximately 3,500 housing units will be launched in the 2nd neighborhood, in addition to a historic roof agreement that will result in the doubling of the city through the addition of over 30,000 housing units. In order to promote the projects, it was agreed that a joint team would be established between the municipality and the Ministry of Construction and Housing in preparation for the formation of a new roof agreement in the coming period, the purpose of which is to bring about a tremendous acceleration of the addition of new units, the budgeting of public buildings, assistance in the development of infrastructure and the promotion of the issue of the cemetery in the city.

The Minister of Construction and Housing, Rabbi Yitzchak Goldknopf: “The city of Beit Shemesh will double in size with God's help, while alongside the new neighborhoods there is an emphasis in the emerging roof agreement on significant development of the existing neighborhoods, new alongside the old. Thus, together with Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and the professional team, we will help Beit Shemesh realize the tremendous potential of becoming one of the leading cities in Israel. The Ministry of Construction and Housing will assist and provide a comprehensive response to all the needs and challenges at hand.”
