A suspect was arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails at a hospital in Jerusalem

At the beginning of the week, a report was received at the police’s 100 center about Molotov cocktails being thrown in the direction of a hospital in Jerusalem. As a result of the act, there were no casualties and no damage was caused. Police forces from the Shalem station in the Jerusalem district and MGB soldiers were called to the scene, conducted scans and an investigation was opened by the police while carrying out investigative operations with the aim of tracking down the suspects in the act.

Yesterday, following a call received at the police headquarters about an alleged incident of violence in the Issawiya neighborhood, the police forces arrived at the scene and located the informant. In the investigation conducted by the police, the suspicion arose that this was a suspect (15, a resident of East Jerusalem) who was involved the day before in throwing Molotov cocktails at the hospital. The suspect was arrested by the police.

In another case last night in East Jerusalem, the fighters of the undercover unit of the Jerusalem Police caught a suspect in the act of involvement in throwing stones at the fighters who were operating there. As a result of the stone pelting, an MP fighter was slightly injured. The suspect (19, residents of East Jerusalem) was arrested by the police and taken to the Shalem station for questioning.

Today, the two suspects who were arrested in the various incidents were brought to court to discuss the extension of their detention and their detention was extended until 15.6 and the investigations continue with the aim of bringing them to justice.

The police emphasize that “the attempt by violent lawbreakers to damage a hospital is a serious, wrong act that indicates more than anything else the moral and values ​​of those suspects. The Israel Police will continue to act resolutely to arrest lawbreakers, troublemakers and throwers of stones and Molotov cocktails, adults or minors, as well as against anyone who tries to harm public institutions, road users, security forces, and protect public peace and security.”
