The terrorists of the military wing of the Islamic Jihad in Jenin this morning (Saturday) took responsibility for the attack that happened yesterday in northern Samaria and published documentation.
The published documentation shows the IED planted in advance among the bushes as the terrorists observe the IDF forces from a distance. The terrorists fire an M16 rifle and flee to take cover near the scene while they ambush the IDF soldiers. At one point, when the IDF fighters approach the area where the explosive device was placed, the moment of the explosion is seen on the spot.
The Islamic Jihad movement said in a press statement upon the release of the document: “We congratulate the operation and confirm that this act of heroism deals a new blow to the presence of the entrenched occupation in the West Bank. We are absolutely sure that the liberals in the West Bank know their duty to their people. While we salute the minds that engineered and planned this operation , as well as to those who carried it out, we confirm that the resistance brigades will continue their role in this open battle. The occupier and his supporters must prepare themselves well for what awaits them in the blessed month, the month of heroism, conquests and victories.”
As I recall, seven IDF soldiers were injured in the attack, three of them moderately and four lightly. In a statement last night from Beilinson Hospital it was stated that the three IDF soldiers are in a stable condition and there is no danger to their lives.
The IDF spokesman said that “during the activity of the IDF forces near the village of Silat a Dahar in the Samaria Division earlier today, as a result of the activation of an explosive device in the area, three IDF soldiers were moderately injured and four other soldiers were lightly injured. The fighters were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, their families were informed. IDF forces continue to search for terrorists in the area.”
