Half of the Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon were eliminated

Defense Minister Yoav Galant held an operational discussion at the Northern Command today (Wednesday), together with the commander of the command Major General Uri Gordin, and the command's intelligence, operations and fire officers. The Minister of Defense received an overview of the defense efforts in the border area, and the various offensive operations, with an emphasis on thwarting Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon.

Minister Galant insisted on the need to promote the operational actions that would enable the return of the residents of the north to their homes, in case the ongoing political efforts fail. Defense Minister Galant said at the end of the discussion: I have completed a situation assessment and a deep operational discussion at the Northern Command.”

According to Minister Galant: “The operations being carried out are of a very high quality, there are many forces deployed on the line, there is a continuous offensive operation by IDF forces in all of southern Lebanon. The operational results are very impressive – half of the Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon were eliminated, these are the people who were responsible for the offensive action, for the desire to harm the citizens of the State of Israel, and we caused half of them to die, and half of them to hide and abandon southern Lebanon to the IDF's operation.”

The Defense Minister also said: “Our main goal was and remains – to ensure that a different security situation prevails here and the residents of the north of the State of Israel can return to their homes in peace and safety. We are dealing with a number of alternatives in order to establish this matter and the coming period will be decisive in this regard.”
