Two suspects were wounded by a policeman during a chase in Ashdod

MDA-Hezla South drives were called a short time ago (Wednesday) to a shooting incident on Achi Eilat Street in Ashdod. MDA-Hezla South Yaenki Haberfeld and Oral Asulin drivers who arrived at the scene reported that upon arriving at the scene they noticed two men with gunshot wounds.

Together with Magen David Adom teams, the medics provided initial and life-saving medical treatment to a 50-year-old man with a penetrating injury to his upper body who was in serious condition and to another 30-year-old man with a penetrating injury to his upper limbs who was slightly injured. Magen David Adom ambulances evacuated the injured for further treatment at the Assuta Medical Center in the city.

The Israel Police said that a short time ago during an enforcement activity of a police officer on a motorcycle in the city of Ashdod, he signaled to the suspect who was in the car to stop on the side of the road for inspection. The suspect refused to stop and began to flee according to the suspicion while driving wildly and hitting other vehicles that were in his path, until he noticed that his path was apparently blocked.

At this point, according to the suspicion, the suspect drove backwards towards the policeman who was following him, and hit him, according to the suspicion, on purpose. The police officer who felt his life was in danger, fired at the driver of the car who continued to escape. The police officer was taken to the hospital in a mild-moderate condition. Large police forces that conducted searches for the suspect managed to locate him along with another person on another street in the city, apparently wounded by a gunshot, and they were evacuated for medical treatment.
