Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which opened today (Monday) in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, referred to the continuation of Israel's war in the Gaza Strip and said: “We want peace based on a two-state solution, and Israel must declare its commitment to a just and inclusive peace “.
The Jordanian foreign minister also stated that “the international community agrees that the only way to ensure security and peace is the two-state solution. The number of settlements in Israel has now reached 7,000. The settlement is killing the two-state solution.”
A-Safadi attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said that he is not interested in peace. According to him, “The humanitarian disaster is deepening in Gaza and children are dying of hunger. Netanyahu must not be allowed to lead the region to destruction. Netanyahu is disrupting the horizon of peace and leading the region to a regional war. Netanyahu says he wants to win in Gaza, but he suffered defeat. Israel has become a pariah state (a country considered by other countries as ostracized and isolated).”
The Jordanian Foreign Minister met today in Riyadh with British Foreign Minister David Cameron, and discussed with him the efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, deal with the humanitarian disaster, and present sufficient sustainable aid to all parts of the Strip. Al-Safadi stressed the need to stop Israel's war in Gaza as soon as possible.
