“The most urgent thing is to return the kidnapped”

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid met with the Emirati Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Ziad (ABZ) at his private residence in the United Arab Emirates. The meeting was held as part of Lapid's political visit to the country.

The main part of the meeting dealt with the issue of the day after in the Gaza Strip, and the international efforts to promote the return of the abductees to their homes.

The Emirati government was a major factor in the Negev Forum founded by Lapid as Foreign Minister and presented a regional vision together with moderate Arab countries.

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid told the Emirati Foreign Minister: “The most urgent thing is to return the abductees home and every country in the region can influence the deal. Israel has an interest in creating, together with the United Arab Emirates and moderate Arab countries, political and economic cooperation that can offer solutions to global problems and deal with Regional threats of all kinds.”
