A 50-year-old man was run over to death by a bus in the Upper Galilee

A 50-year-old pedestrian was hit a short time ago (Friday) by a bus on Route 85 between the Kahal interchange and the Nahal Amud interchange. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene found him without signs of life and had to pronounce him dead.

MDA paramedic Liad Greenberg said: “We saw near the side of the road a man about 50 years old lying unconscious, with severe multi-system injuries, he was not breathing and had no pulse, we performed medical tests and in a short time we had to determine his death. About 100 meters away was the bus from which he was hit, the driver and passengers did not need medical treatment.”

Roi Manor and Hichiel Rushetsky, medics of the Rescue Union, said: “This is an accident involving a bus and a car that was parked on the side of the road. Unfortunately, the driver of the parked vehicle was pronounced dead. Passersby said that the vehicle was parked on the side of the road due to a malfunction and the driver of the vehicle was fatally injured as a result of hitting the bus.”

In the rescue union, we remind you that it is recommended (as much as possible) to avoid stopping on the side of the road. Stopping on the shoulder unfortunately causes serious accidents, some of which are fatal.

The examiners of the Traffic Division of the Israel Police are investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident.
